About Us
Amanda Shaw Solicitors have been advising businesses and individuals on buying and selling property since 2007.
We are one of the few local firms who specialise in conveyancing. Doing only this work means that we have a huge depth of experience. This experience allows us to see problems before they arise, resolve them quickly and keep your transaction moving forward, on terms that best suit you.
And, on occasion, we’ve been known to advise against proceeding, because we’ve considered the purchase or sale too much of a risk for our client’s long-term security.
Our goal is to work hard enough to allow you to feel as relaxed as possible while we move towards completion. We do this by providing ultra-responsive communications and a warm welcome, by explaining every step of the process, and by offering only the best, heartfelt advice.
We don’t claim to be the cheapest conveyancer in the market. But, we know that by providing the sort of honest guidance that we would give to our friends, combined with our deep legal expertise, we are giving an excellent service and the best result for every single one of our clients. Amanda Shaw
Director
Amanda founded Amanda Shaw Solicitors in 2007. She previously worked at ASB Law in Horsham as partner, and, although she enjoyed her role there, she had a strong vision of what she wanted to achieve in her own practice.
She set out to break the mould of conveyancing services available in the area, by building a business with a family feel, and a highly-responsive, but relaxed attitude.
Amanda has a genuine love for her work, she particularly enjoys using the law to get an end result that suits all parties. She has an incredible attention to detail and huge amounts of energy. She thrives on interacting with other people and dealing with challenging situations. The result of this is her ability to build long-lasting relationships with her staff, clients and most of the estate agents in the area.
When she’s not working, she loves travelling with her family, reading, skiing and running with her dogs.

Jackie Collins
Administrator
Jackie has been our administrator since 2010. She previously worked for Abbey National / Santander for almost thirty years, and then with a mortgage broker for five years, so she has a huge amount of experience of staying on top of the complex details involved in financial transactions.
Jackie likes the variety of work that we ask of her, and that’s lucky because she has a huge set of responsibilities, from issuing quotations to chasing outstanding documentation.
When she is away from the office, she enjoys dog walking, travel, playing in a marching band, and meeting with friends for good food and wine.
We love Jackie because she is just so accurate! You can see that the professionalism and discipline of working in a banking environment has stayed with her. Her work is the foundation of everything that we do here. She is never flustered and she always remains calm under pressure.

Linda Woolley
Plot Sales Manager
Linda joined us in 2015 initially on a temporary basis, but we soon snapped her up! She now manages the plot sales transactions, and also provides holiday cover for the other members of the team. Her role includes a bit of everything from initial quote through to the finishing stages of a transaction, and anything in between! This means that she has to be very good at picking up a file at any stage and progressing it forward.
Linda has over 25 years’ experience in the conveyancing field, including acting for developer clients on sales of their new homes. She likes being here with us because of the relaxed style of the business.
Outside of work, Linda enjoys the great outdoors, jogging, cycling or just pottering around the garden. She is also a bit of a ‘petrol-head’ and enjoys motorsports.
We love Linda because she is so incredibly versatile and can step in to assist others at any stage of a transaction. Having someone on the team who can do this means that our clients get a consistent level of service. They never have to experience an interruption to their property purchase or sale because one of the team is away from work. She’s worth her weight in gold!

Harriett Harrison
Director
Harriett joined the team in late 2019, and quickly became a vital part of the operation! As one of our solicitors she’s responsible for transactions from the very start, to completion of a sale or purchase. She has in-depth experience of the property market, developed during her past role with an estate agency.
Harriett loves working with clients, developing these relationships and helping clients to overcome challenges if they arise. She also enjoys being in the countryside and spending time with her two pugs – Rosie and Minnie!
We love Harriett because she is an energetic and effective solicitor. Her estate agency background, coupled with her extensive legal studies, makes her a knowledgeable and resourceful team member. She is excellent at building a relationship with clients. When you are selling or buying one of the most expensive assets you will own, this trust is key.

KIRSTY DE VOS
Director
Kirsty joined us in 2017, she has fitted in with the rest of the team perfectly. Kirsty qualified as a Solicitor in 2022, which is remarkable considering she achieved this whilst working full time. She has worked in conveyancing for over fifteen years.
Kirsty deals with purchases, but also covers Amanda’s work when Amanda is on holiday. She enjoys her work because she is fascinated by the law and finds being involved in such an exciting stage in someone’s life very rewarding.
Kirsty is particularly good at dealing with complex transactions. When a problem arises, which they often do, she will diligently chase down a solution. She’s intelligent and careful, but pragmatic when necessary.
When she’s not working, Kirsty loves going on long walks, running, baking and reading.
We love Kirsty because she has a great depth of experience from her previous roles. She takes a diligent approach to her work. Her efficient analysis of any obstacles that crop up means that our clients don’t have to worry about having a problem that we can’t solve.

Abi Penfold
Licensed Conveyancer
Abi joined our team in May 2022. She’s one of our conveyancers, and so she’s responsible for handling purchases, reporting back to clients, dealing with enquiries, and taking transactions to the point of exchange.
We feel very lucky to have Abi, as she has a wealth of experience in the property industry, having worked for 17 years in estate agency, before moving across to conveyancing. She worked her way up through the ranks over four years from an admin role, to paralegal and now conveyancer. She qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2023.
Abi enjoys the variety of the work we do, supporting and building a rapport with our clients and helping people to buy their dream home.
She has three children who keep her very busy! Abi loves running (it’s not a prerequisite to work here, but it helps!) and walking her family dog.
We love Abi because she chose to pursue a new career in conveyancing in her 30s and has put so much energy and enthusiasm into making it happen. Abi is dedicated to providing an excellent service to her clients, giving each of them her time, care and attention.

Ben Lewis
Conveyancer
Ben joined our team early in 2020. Ben is one of our conveyancers dealing with property purchases from the start through to the point of exchange of contracts. He also assists Linda with new development plot sales.
Having worked in the property industry for more than 13 years, Ben has always had a keen interest in the property market and the processes involved in house sales and purchases. He is working towards his Council for Licensed Conveyancers qualification.
Ben has also found himself in the role of indispensable IT manager. It soon became apparent to the team that Ben is a bit of an IT wiz and he is now the first port of call for any day-to-day IT issues.
Ben has a young daughter, so free time is a precious resource to him, when he does get time to relax he enjoys playing computer games with friends and watching movies.
We love Ben because no task is too difficult for him. He is always prepared to give clients plenty of time and care. His adaptable approach is great for the team and even better for clients as it makes the whole office more efficient.

Sally Dinkovski

Sally is responsible for managing our client work post-exchange and through completion. She enjoys the work because there is a good variety of tasks to complete in this time and she loves being able to work with our clients in the exciting time as they complete on their new home purchase. She likes the relaxed atmosphere in our office, and our ‘Cake Fridays’!
Outside of work, Sally has 3 children and Sadie, a gorgeous black labrador, to take care of. She enjoys watching her kids playing football and travelling.
We love Sally because she is incredibly efficient and tenacious. She is always smiling, even when she has to hold on the phone for an hour to speak to a mortgage lender! Amazing positivity.

Nikki has started her Council for Licensed Conveyancers qualification, and is really pleased to join us because she enjoys the work, being able to use her practical and logical mind, and supporting the rest of the team. She’s also a fan of ‘cake friday’!

We love Nikki because her background running a large team dealing with clients under huge pressure makes her a calm and focused member of the team.
